United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women (UMW) was started nearly a 100 years ago by several ladies in Boston who wanted to help send missionaries across the seas.

While the original purpose of the group was to raise money for missionaries, today the UMW also provides opportunities for spiritual and intellectual growth. Members gain leadership skills, are actively involved in mission work and meet regularly to share ideas with other women. UMW members are also able to gain leadership skills, be involved in mission as well as meeting and sharing ideas with other women.

UMW membership is open to any woman interested in committing herself to the purpose of the group and participating in its activities.

The Strongsville United Methodist Women have been an important part of the congregation for more than 50 years. The group is actively involved in mission work and service to the church while providing many opportunities for fellowship. Monthly meetings held by each of the group’s three Circles include interesting programs and social activities.

Lydia Circle meets the first Thursday of each month (September through May) at 12:30pm at the church.

Elizabeth Circle generally meets the 2nd Monday of each month (September through May) at 7:30pm, either at the church or in the home of a member.

Hannah Circle generally meets the last Monday of each month (September through May), usually at 7:00pm, in various places.

UMW activities are published monthly in the Wesley News and are included in the Sunday bulletins.

You are invited to join this vital group in promoting mission work in our community and around the world. For further information contact the church office at office@strongsvilleumc.org.
