SUMC offers Sunday School during our 9:25am and 11:05am church services:
9:25am Service Nursery/Toddler room, and classes for ages 2 1/2 through 5th grade Enrollment in age-level classes is based on the child’s age by September 30th. | 11:05am Service Multi-Aged Class for Preschool through 5th grade (youger siblings welcome). Pre-teens and teenagers are welcome to help assist. |
Nursery A room for ages birth to 24 months is staffed with trained helpers. See our nursery page for more information. School-Age Children For children age 2 1/2 through 5th grade in classes, we use the Cokesbury curriculum, "Exploring Faith – God’s Word for God’s Children," in which students learn a biblical story and share a craft each week. During both the 9:25 and 11:05 worship hour, the Sunday school classes are led into the sanctuary where they share in children’s sermon taught by one of the pastors. Children adopt a quarterly tithing theme to help them understand the importance of giving and helping others. Church staff and volunteers who work with youth and children are Safe Sanctuary trained and approved. Parents sign children in at the Christian Education entrance downstairs. Visitors are always welcome! Jr. and Sr. High Classes Sunday School classes are held each week during the 9:25 service in Youth Minister's office. The 6th to 8th grade class meets to learn the big picture narrative of the Bible and how they can use that story to make sense of their story. The 9th to 12th grade class meets to take a deeper look at the Bible and to wrestle with ways they can apply its truth to their lives. See the Youth section of our website for more information on these classes. Adult Sunday School Classes are offered for adults both during the week and on Sunday mornings. Our Discipleship Academy program is a 6-week-on, 6-week-off program that offers topical classes during a fall, winter, and spring semester. There are also several longer-term adult bible studies available throughout the year. Finally, a short-term church-wide study is offered each fall. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
