SUMC awards Chapman scholarships yearly to deserving students who are members of the church and who intend to continue their education on a full-time basis beyond the high school level. Students should excel scholastically, participate in outside activities, be an active SUMC member, and demonstrate a need for award. Additionally each year through the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars program, the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation provides $1,000 matching scholarships to United Methodist students attending a United Methodist-related college, university, or seminary. Applications are available from the church office beginning December 3. Eligible students who wish to be considered for the Dollars for Scholars scholarship must indicate this designation on their application. All applications must be submitted by February 3, 2013.
