Outdoor Worship

Strongsville United Methodist Church invites the community to a joyful and family-friendly outdoor worship service on Sunday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. The service will take place in the church pavilion and parking lot at 13500 Royalton Road, and all are welcome to attend.

This unique event offers a blended worship experience that combines traditional hymns with contemporary praise music—reflecting the diverse worship style and vibrant spirit of the congregation. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, water bottles, and any needed shade for comfort during the service.

A designated “pray-ground” area will be available for children, complete with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and other quiet play options so families can enjoy the service together. Following worship, everyone is invited to enjoy a free ice cream social.

Carl Fernstrum, Director of Worship at Strongsville UMC, shared his excitement about the event: “This outdoor service is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our neighbors and let the people of Strongsville know—we’re here for them.”

Past attendees have expressed their enthusiasm for worshiping outdoors. One guest remarked, “I just love being outdoors and seeing God’s beauty all around me—it adds something special to the service.” Others expressed their desire to worship outdoors all year round! Strongsville UMC strives to meet the community’s worship and faith needs in fresh and welcoming ways.

The event is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the service will be held indoors. For more information, email office@strongsvilleumc.org
