Parenting Support Group
Woven
This group supports eachother in current parenting challenges by reading a book together on a parenting topic then discussing and applying it within our own parent-child relationships. Open to parents, grandparents, and other caring adults who want to understand and help with today’s challenges in raising kids. The Parenting Support Group meets during confirmation classes twice per month from late September to early April. Starting this September, we will read and discuss Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Child Doesn’t Have to Heal from written by Meredith Miller.

Every Moment Holy Liturgical Prayer Study (Zoom)
Douglas McKelvey’s “Every Moment Holy” series has brought the beauty and rhythm of liturgy to everyday life. With prayers for everything from the first campfire of the season to changing diapers, consuming media, or creating art, these collections provide a valuable perspective on how we can invite God to truly make every moment holy. Join Pastor Lindsey via Zoom on Sunday evenings in October at 8:30 pm. This timeframe and format is designed with young families in mind to meet “post-bedtime,” but is open to all who are interested.

Discovery Class

This is a great opportunity to know more about the United Methodist church in general and Strongsville UMC in particular. Participants are given the opportunity to join the church if they are ready for the commitment, but there is no pressure to join. Lunch and childcare provided (childcare upon request). Will meet for three classes on Sundays, November 2, 9, and 16 from 12:15-2pm.

Grief Support Groups

This support grouop provids participants a safe space to grieve losses. Losses don’t have to be recent and any type of loss is welcome. Grief can get better with time and community. In this group, stories are shared, coping strategies are discussed, and healing can take place. Come share, learn, and heal. Led by Rev. Debbie Cerra. Two options available, meeting the first and third Thursdays: in-person 10 –11 am and on Zoom 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Contact Rev. Cerra at ddcerra@gmail.com for more information.
