Fall Church-Wide Study—Begins Week of September 14th
One: Unity in a Divided World, by Diedra Riggs
Jesus said the world would know we are his followers by our love for one another. Yet in a divided world, it’s easy to put up walls or keep others at a distance. In One: Unity in a Divided World, Deidra Riggs calls us to follow Jesus’ example and take the first step toward reconciliation, rooted in the security of God’s steadfast love. This 5-week study will challenge us to move beyond surface-level civility into the deeper, often unseen work of unity, rooted in Scripture and shaped by grace. Meets weekly for 5 weeks beginning September 14. Cost: $6. In person and Zoom options available. Childcare upon request, contact the office.
Mondays 7:00 – 8:30 pm (Zoom only) with Pastor Nichole
Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:30 pm (in person) with Kitty Kadas
Thursdays 7:00 – 8:30 pm (in person) with Pastor Abby
Fridays 9:30 – 11:00 am (in person) with Paula Fultz
Flourish:
Becoming Who God Created. Women’s Multicultural Book Study (Zoom)
Are you living the life you were made for? In the book The Dream of You, Jo Saxton helps women rediscover their God-given identity by examining the lives of biblical figures and sharing her own story of overcoming cultural and personal brokenness. Through this study, we’ll be encouraged to confront the false identities we’ve believed, embrace our worth in Christ, and reclaim the dreams God placed in us from the beginning. This is part of a continuing Multicultural Life Group partnership between New Community Bible Fellowship and Strongsville United Methodist Church. Meets Wednesdays from September 10– December 10, 6:30-8:00 pm via Zoom.
Living Beloved Community:
20 Lessons on Love
This is a six-week study on love in action. If you sometimes question whether love has a place in this dark era of hostility and conflict, and you want to practice love in a meaningful and faithful way, this study is for you. In 20 short chapters over six weeks, we’ll explore practical ways to live the way of love in our broken world. There are both individual and group study guides to help us on the journey through the book On Love: 20 Lessons for the World We Seek. Led by Mary Frank, Mondays from 9:30 – 11:00 am starting September 22th for 6 weeks . Cost: $15.
Your Name is Daughter:
What the Unsung Women of the Bible Teach Us About Our Worth, by Amy Seiffert
God created women and men equal in dignity, value, and worth. But our identity as God’s daughters has been contested, both inside and outside of the church, and we’re left wondering where we belong. Sharing stories of the unsung women of the Bible, beloved author Amy Seiffert empowers us to stand firm in our dignity as a Daughter of the King, exchanging fear and doubt for confidence and faith. Led by Jessica Van Lehn. Meets Tuesdays at 7 pm for 6 weeks starting September 30. Cost: $17.

Meets during confirmation classes twice per month from late September to early April. Contact Pastor Abby (abby.auman@strongsvilleumc.org) or Melissa Postma (melissa.postma@gmail.com) for more information.
